Being in the hospital is scary. Being in the hospital when you're a small child is terrifying. You may not totally understand why you're not feeling good or what's going on, there are all kinds of people you've never seen before coming in and out of your room, and you're in a strange new place instead of the comfort of your home. That's why River 97.3 has teamed up once again with the Children's Hospital of Illinois to collect teddy bears for children right here in Peoria that need a reason to smile. We want to provide them with a little comfort to get through a very difficult time, but we need your help!!
Last year, we collected over 2,000 teddy bears that were delivered to the kids on Valentine's Day, and because of your generosity, the Children's Hospital was stocked with bears to hand out all year round! This year, we want to match that number, and if possible, go above and beyond so every sick child can have a new friend to keep them company. Through February 12th, please bring new teddy bears to the River 97.3 studio (120 Eaton Street in Peoria) during our regular office hours, Tuesday-Friday from noon-5pm. Teddy bears MUST be new. The River 97.3 staff will deliver them to the Children's Hospital of Illinois on Valentine's Day! (Note: bears do not have to be Valentine's themed, as the hospital hands them out throughout the year).
Teddy bears may also be dropped off at the following locations:
Woodforest National Bank (inside Walmart)
1980 Freedom Parkway, Washington 61571
Tenderheart Child Care Center
1412 Washington Road, Washington 61571
Thanks SO MUCH for your support of the Children's Hospital of Illinois and River 97.3!
