A bill to make Pumpkin Pie the official state pie of Illinois will come across the governor's desk to get signed.
Republican state Rep. Keith Sommer of Morton sponsored the pie proposal. He has said the bill is a tribute to how much pumpkin Illinois produces, which is alot. In fact Morton is known as the "pumpkin capital of the world," producing 82 percent of the canned pumpkin in the world. STORY
Also in the bill is legisltion to make the state vegatable sweet corn.
